Human Beings
Welcome to the world! Sit, let me tell you a story.
She would often sit and wonder why everything others did felt like a jab to her rib and a kick to the gut. As long as you are an empath in a world of vipers, your spirit is bound to be agitated every single minute of every blessed day.
Can you imagine feeling the scorn before it even emerges on their apparent, wicked faces? Can you feel the stares that follow you as you walk away from a pretentious conversation aimed at just finding out what is new and going on in your life?
She hates it here. She longs to exist in another universe, where humans are kind, where humans care, where humans feel. Nothing comes to the surface with those human beings that she encounters. There is always some hidden agenda, some plan, some vicious desire. The competition and the jealousy is all too real, as she sits here and ponders, what can she ever do to make it right.
She observes and pays attention, a costly, dear price. If only she did not feel so much and so deeply. But you see, she feels that way because she knows she would never treat people this way. While she knows she is not all good, she knows that she would never intentionally plow people deep down into the ground, and stamp their roots so low that light would never urge their growth. The story of human beings, I tell you, a dreadful ending.
She hates it here, you know, surrounded by all this fake energy, the kind of dullness you can sense a mile away. There's often no one to reach out to, and those who claim that you can do so anytime are just fulfilling the societal norms of "being nice and offering", but with a cruel mask. So how does this story end, you may ask, it only ends with you. Choose you each time, never bound by the strings of the crowd, authentic and fearless, you persist. For as much as it is painstaking to reside among people we do not trust, there's really nowhere else to escape to, anyway. If only she did not feel so much, if only.
