Love's Fatal "Hit and Run"
One day, you're riding along happily, grinning from cheek to cheek, absorbing sweet lies of "I love you" and "you mean the world to me", and then suddenly next day, you find yourself spinning violently, your head connecting with the dashboard of reality, and you have no idea how to stop yourself from crashing. You pound your head so violently and it jolts your nerves awake. Blood rushes from your forehead, and the tainted love gushes from your wound, leaving a trail of scorn, so salty and bitter. It dawns on you that you have just been involved in the worst kind of accident, and now it surely feels like you will die. A hit and run that shatters your happiness and drains you of all your love, until you are all dried out, with no desire and absolutely nothing left to give.
You thought it would last forever, didn't you? Now you, with your inconsolable, teary face, painted white, with a big red nose in the middle, pleading with time to bring you back to when sense was your friend. Instead, time ticks slower and lets you feel the enemy called pain, and feelings now brutally hit, fleeing the scene of this tragic heart accident. You are left behind, and the fake love- giving perpetrator has not even turned around, not even to gaze or show remorse as you lay sprawling in anguish, bleeding profusely all the love that you happily gave away. So foolish, you should have kept some love for yourself.... did you even love yourself enough to give love? Did you take enough time to build self- worth? Did you not recognize that when a cup is dry and rusty, you simply never pour into it, because it contaminates instantly? Still, with the life draining out, he does not even acknowledge the damage caused by his wreckage. Instead, he hurriedly weaves his tail to lash out destruction upon the next unsuspecting victim. He leaves you, suffocating and grappling with disbelief, at the shocking hit and run of love. Who, now, can save you?
As your soul leaves your body, you plead with your mind and fight with your heart to bring you back to consciousness. You silently scream at the creepy, engulfing shadows that attempt to transform the last ounce of your love into hate. Your eyes begin to flutter and now all the red flags that you deliberately ignored are flashing all about your face, whipping you with delight and mockingly whispering, "I told you so." Eventually, you shut down, and soon you wake up somewhere new, somewhere unknown. You look around in despair, unable to recognize your own voice as you shout, "How did I get killed by love?" The only answer that comes back is the laughter of an echo and all it jeers is that love is no more.
